I will be listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this coming week, including a group of Antique Bottles from the estate of a former longtime antique bottle collector. Here is a Scarce ANTIQUE c.Late-19thC BASS & CO.\'s PALE ALE \"OLD DICK\" BRAND BOTTLE WITH MOST OF ORIGINAL LABELS INTACT. Great front label graphics with old dog in center. Reads \"John Fennell, Importer & Bottler...Boston\". Bottle is 9-15/16\" tall.
I have been unable to find another example of this bottle with this label anywhere in my online search. I\'m guessing bottle to be Late-19thC vintage but uncertain of exact age myself. It has a very deep recessed bottom. Has label for instructions on serving ale on shoulder.
Condition: The bottle has a bump spot in the glass on the lower side neck (see close-up). Two small nicks around the top edge. A couple of scratch spots on surface just below the lip (see close-up). Some dirtiness and residue areas on the interior of glass as found in estate. The remaining parts of label are on firmly.
