This object is a RARE AND EARLY ASTROLABE BAY BULLROARER from an old German colonial collection pre 1914It is carved from Black Palm which is also known as LIMBUM.36 cm longany objects from that area are extremely rare because Astrolabe Bay was the first site of the capital of German New Guinea before it was transferred to Rabaul.Therefore it was the most developed area and \"empty\" when the Germans left in 1914!
