For sale I have a maker marked hand forged iron 18th century camp / belt ax. I can\'t seem to make out the mark completely. It seems to be an initial J. and the last name ending in DLE. The ax has nice ears and a thin rectangular eye. The ax measures approx. 6 and 1/4 inches long by 2 and 7/8 at widest. The eye is about 1 and 1/2 inches long by 1/4 inch. It shows much use and wear. Unfortunately the head is cracked following a forge line. Oh well its been around a long time and seen a lot of use. Still a great piece for your Rev War and colonial America collections.
