For sale is a cup made by Fulda. Fulda was founded by Prince Abbot Heinrich VIII von Bibra zu Fulda in 1764. The factory closed its doors after a short existence in 1789. The figures of Fulda are probably the most expensive pieces of German porcelain one can own but it is rare to find any pieces by this maker as they only made porcelain for a few years. The cup is marked with the under glaze blue FF mark under the crown and an impressed 1K and dates to the early years of this maker. The cup is hand painted with a puce and gold design that looks fairly modern. Some puce and gold flowers scattered throughout the outside of the cup. It is 2.75 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. The cup is in great condition with wear to the gilding. There is what looks like a beginning of a chip on the foot ring but it is solid and never came off.
