According to the Royal Doulton Archive held by Stoke-on-Trent Archives, this platter is described as \"a2689 - Dinnerware Caxton ivory and dark brown Pomegranate slightly tinted underglaze fruit, buds and part of seeds shaded in yellow, remainder of leaves and centre of flowers pink, some of the leaves in mixed green, others 5 Brown, centre of small flowers mixed green.\" The Doulton mark on the bottom indicates this platter was produced between 1879 and 1891. There is a 9-85 mark which probably means it was produced in September, 1885. This is a very rare and old piece. No cracks or chips with the expected crazing and some dark discoloration on the front.
