This sale is for a rare, antique German chocolate mold of Santa Claus (Father Christmas, St. Nicholas, Sinterklaas) riding a Harley Davidson style motorcycle with a sack of toys on his back. It was manufactured by the famous Walter Hornlein of Schwabisch Gmund, Germany circa 1950. It is marked with their catalog style #1018 on the front half of the mold and both the front and back halves are additionally marked with the matching mold #21 (indicating a matched set and guaranteeing a snug fit between the halves).The mold is 7.5 inches long x 5.5 inches high and its condition is near mint, with only superficial scratches from the clamps sliding on and off. It has beautiful details and appears to have never been used. The inside is as bright and shiny as the outside with excellent tinning and is still suitable for molding chocolates should you desire to do so.
