THIS LISTINGIS FOR...this rare, antique, Italian MARQUETRY box. This is a beautiful example of early marquetry work. I show photos from all sides for you. The blocks around the sides of the box and framing the top are very, very, teeny tiny. They are called \"tessellated mosaic inlay\". Such intricate work to produce this little gem. When I purchased this there was a little note inside that read \"Italian c. 1900 Walnut & Olive wood box\". I believe this a Sorrento Ware box from Italy. It measures 4 by 3 by 1.5 inches. It is in remarkable condition for it\'s age. I show photos from every possible side and angle for you and a selection of close-ups so you can see the exact condition of this rare beauty. When you shut the box the clasp catches like it should but I don\'t have a key for it. Works fine without the key you just can\'t lock it. There is a small bit of damage on the bottom corner of the box and I show a close-up of that for you. Box is in really nice condition for being over a hundred years old.
