You\'re offerding on a beautiful pair of mathcing bookends - cast iron with a bronze-applied finish - with a detailed design on the front of a small mossy log cabin. Along the bottom it says \"Lincoln Cabin\", immortalizing the birthplace of the martyred 16th President, Abraham Lincoln. The back of each carries the marks of the Judd Manufacturing Co., and a catalog number, 9673. Judd was founded in 1830 as a foundery, first became notable for their mechanical banks in the late 19th century, and transitioned full force into a manufacturer of high quality cast iron, bronze and brass decorative consumer items from about the turn of the 20th century into the 1930s. Known for their high quality detailed craftsmanship, theiritems remainhighly collectible to this day.I\'m guesstimating these to be circa 1920s, wich seems to have been the peak of production period for this type of item.

These bookends are in nice overall condition, highly and appealingly detailed with a beautiful bronzed appearance- one of them has somea small amount ofwhite residue around one of the cabin windows (see photos) - which I\'m thinking will clean off fairly easily but I have opted not to so as not to risk damage to the item. They are about 4 3/4\" wide, 3 1/2\" tall, with a front-to-back depth of about 2 1/4\" and a cobined weight of about 4 lbs.
