I am offering for sale a fantastic antique or vintage figural Wasp Vesta Case or Match Safe. The safe is made of either Brass or Bronze. The wasp measures 4-1/2\" long x 1-3/4\" tall x 2-1/4\" wide and weighs almost 13 ounces. This rare and hard to find Match safe is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs. The wings lift up for storing the matches and it works perfectly.
Vesta Cases or Match Safes were produced extensively between 1890 and 1920. There were thousands made in every style imaginable and out of almost every type of material. Businesses would have the names put on them for advertising.
Vesta Cases were produced because the Vesta\'s, short matches, were used in every day life to light stoves, lanterns and Cigarettes. Vesta matches were prone to rubbing together and accidentally igniting. For this reason Vesta Cases or Match safes were made. One distinguishing characteristic of a match safe is that it usually has a rough surface on the bottom for striking the match.
This is a wonderful piece in fantastic condition. It would make a great addition to anyone\'s collection. Thank you for looking.

Unless prior arrangements have been made payment must be received within 3 days after the close of the sale. After the third day, if payment has not been received, a non-paying biider notice could be sent through the system. We do not want this to happen so please communicate with us.
At this time we only accept Paypal. Items will ship ony to addresses listed on your payment notification.
ShippingItems will only be shipped to the address listed on your Paypal Payment notification or profile. We reserve the right to ship items using the most cost effective and safe carrier for the item puchased. Shipping costs for international buyers do not include taxes and custom fees. These fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer. We will not reduce the value of an item or falsify any document shipped internationaly.
Terms of Sale
I sell mostly antique and collectible items. With all antiques and used collectible items they can be expected to have minor flaws such as scratches or dings. I do my best to describe any blemishes on items that I do not consider normal wear. If you are interested in any of the my pre owned items please ask all pertinent questions prior to buying. By doing so this will insure you will have no surprises when your item arrives. Please always expect used antique and collectible items to have some minor signs of wear.
Items being sold for parts or restoration have in many cases not been tested. I cannot guarantee funtionality of these items. If I am able to test an item this will be noted in the listing. There are no returns on items being sold for parts or restoration.
Items being sold as new may sometimes be missing the original box and or paperwork. This is in most cases due to the item having been a store display. In this case it will be noted in the listing. Otherwise if the item states new it will be in the original box with all corresponding paperwork.
Payment is expected within 3 days of the listing being completed. Our system will automatically file non-paying buyer notification for all items not paid in a timely manner. At this point I reserve the right to relist the item or offer it to the second highest buyer.
I reserve the right to ship items in the most cost effective and safe mannor possible. I try to keep my shipping cost down for my buyers and in most cases the amount paid does not cover the cost of shipping and materials. Tracking numbers will be uploaded to and unless we have an unforeseen problem your item should ship within one business day after the sale. This does not include weekends.
