Latter part of the images are of the back of the rug.This listing is for an Antique circa 1880 or earlier Kurdish Jaff / Jaf Kurd Main Rug / Carpet An exceptional and dazzling array of just about any color you can imagine can be seen in this carpet.The design is just fantastic. A tribal carpet in origin, it is woven for personal use in tents . So much character is embedded in the body of the rug as if the weaver\'s focus was to create a brightening and calm experience for the tenants of the tent. Simple yet complex detail , designs and colors originating from ancient Persia.So much energy ...Note designs resembling whirling logs.Note the rams horns designs. Wool foundation ( warp and weft ) and wool pile, all hand spun wool, all dyes in small lots as the weaver continued weaving the rug in different locations. The rug measures 65 inches by 94 inches or 5\' 5\" x 7\' 10\". The colors are all natural and vegetable base dyes. In excellent original condition with some oxidation wear which is the result of iron based dyes and is considered normal , acceptable, and unavoidable. It can be fully restored or used as is . No structural damage . Salvages on two sides have been hand overcast as shown. It has been soak washed by a textile conservator and it is lustrous and shinny clean. It is clean enough to touch face with.Exceptional color palette.I usually post many more images on my listing than the 12 listed on gallery which only will be visible to individuals on classic site.
