Here for your consideration is a magnificent and extremely rare, antique Victorian, 1844, solid silver, Nathaniel Mills, castle-top, card case,depicting St Paul’s Cathedral in London, complete with redMoroccan leather case.

This is as good asit gets with regardscard cases,an extremely rare find.....I\'ve only got one, once it\'s gone .... it\'s gone. You might never find anotherone this good, and if there\'s one thing I\'ve learned aboutantiques/collectables, when items are of quality and extremelyrare, he who hesitatesusually loses out.

A very rare,early, Victorian hallmarked silver, castle-topcard case,depicting a delightful view of St Pauls Cathedral, London, made by Nathaniel Mills inBirmingham in 1844. The repousse relief workmanship in this card case is without doubt some of the best we\'ve ever seen !!

This example is in good condition. Itfeaturesfinelyengravedfloral/leaf scrolls on an engine turned ground, centred to verso by a C-scroll cartouche, engraved with a knights arm holding a cross. Under the lidismarked with an N.M makers mark for Nathaniel Mills, in addition to Queen Victoria\'s head duty mark, the lion passant, with Birmingham anchor assay office mark and the gothic dateletter \'V\' for 1844.

Condition: A beautiful example of a very rare castle-top cardcaseby the very best Birmingham silver maker. This delightful card case is in good used condition. It does have age related wear/tear to the leather case and some beautiful silver patina, commensurate with 172 years ofage, but nothing unusual.

This stylish card case has stunning engine turned decoration with beautiful floral backgrounds and superbly detailed, high reliefthree-dimensional scene of St Paul’s Cathedral. A real must for anyserious silver collector.
