Sources cite the founding of Spaulding & Company between 1888 and1889 in Chicago, Illinois. An earlyassociation with Tiffany & Company as their European representative allowedHenry Spaulding to expand his business to Paris, France. His Chicago shop was a Gorham retail outlet,and from the 1920s until 1943, Gorham actually had full ownership of Spaulding& Company.

This letter opening measures 11.5 inches in length. The retail replacement is very difficult todetermine. You will find it challengingto find a single other example online in this Spaulding design.
