Rare Authentic Iraqi Silver Mounted Wood Torah Case & Scroll On Gevil With Silver Finials, Ca 1800.

An extremely rare authentic antique Iraqi silver mounted wood Torah case (Tik) and scroll on Gevil (Gvil / Gewil) with silver finials, Iraq, Ca 1800.

Hebrew dedicatory inscription inside and a silver Star of David with a later dedication.

Silver decoration bands on brown velvet background.

The case has a silver top with 8 dangling Stars of David on chains (missing two).

All parts are authentic and original.

Original complete Torah scroll on Gevil with square Sephardic script.

Tagin on the letters שעטנז ג\"ץ and on the letters בדק חי\"ה.

Petuchot and setumot according to Rambam and Rosh.

The finials are engraved with floral and foliate ornaments and hung with 6 dangling Stars of David on chains.

Very good condition considering its age, well preserved, some faded ink and erased letters, well readable, minor cracks to the top decoration of the case.
