Offered in this sale a wonderful most unusual hand painted large divided porcelain serving bowl that was made by Carl Tielsch in Germany in the late 1800s. It is marked on the back with a blue printed stamp that was in use from roughly 1875 - 1900. What makes this piece particularly unusual is the fact there is an applied matte bisque heron or crane bird in lieu of a traditional handle. it measures roughly 12 3/4\" long x 10\" wide x 5\" tall. The inside surface of each of the divided bowl is decorated with hand painted flowers. The border edges are a soft pink. The condition is very good. There is an old restoration to the knee area on the right leg of the bird (see 7th image), otherwise, there are no other chips, crack, flakes or hairlines.
