This is an early example of a modern chronograph that can be started, stopped, and reset to zero which this style of chronograph was first patented in 1862 by Adolphe Nicole. The early ones like this had the chronograph mechanism under the dial instead of on the bridge side which was later invented by Auguste Baud.
CASE:
Glass crystal, continental silver, marked \"Fine Silver\", full hunter, engraved monogram decoration on the front cover. Theres also an engraved presentation on the inside cover which is quite hard to see in the photo. There is a push button at the side to activate the chronograph.
DIAL:
White enamel porcelain, roman numerals bordered by a minute track and outer timing division track, seconds dial at 6 o\'clock and chronograph sweep seconds hand to the center, blue spade hands, and signed \"Jean Huguenin Dz(Droz)\".
MOVEMENT:
Quality swiss nickel finished bridge plate movement, crown wind, 16 jewels, steel club tooth lever escapement, compensation balance, regulator index on center bridge instead of balance cock, chronograph complication under the dial.
