Here, we have a very rare and absolutely exquisite, vintage (c.1930\'s), complete, engine-turned, 7-piece, pale pink, guilloche enamel vanity set, with hand-painted decorations. It is extremely rare to find a set with the matching tray, and it is also extremely rare to find a tray that is \"all over\" guilloche enamel. This wonderful set includes 2 brushes, 1 hand mirror, 1 comb, a pair of matching candlesticks … and the fabulous tray! It is truly a complete set, and it is in truly excellent condition! The only issues to point out are two tiny spots (one light and one dark) on the tray; a small bit of discoloration on the brass on the side of the tray; and a tiny dark spot on the side of one candlestick (please see photos: all are shown). These issues are extremely minimal, and they do not detract in the slightest from the beauty of the set. In fact, this is one of the finest vanity sets that I have ever seen, and it must have been very well kept--indeed, it appears to have been hardly ever used--by the owners of the English estate from which it came.
This is a magnificent set, and far more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures! The colors are absolutely gorgeous--pale pink (NOT white or whitish as it appears in some of the photos; the color in the photos is washed out as a result of the lights!) with beautiful, deeper pink, hand-painted roses that are still vibrant; the brushes and the comb are excellent: the brushes have beautiful, intact, and clean wood at their bases, and clean bristles that show almost no wear, and the comb has clean teeth that still stand straight; the mirror is also in excellent condition, with no staining or discoloration; the brass, too, is in excellent condition, and all of the nails are in the candlesticks and the tray; the bottoms of the candlesticks and the tray are excellent, as well, and they show almost no wear. There is a small amount of green wax in the candlesticks that will be easily removable by the new owner of the set. Finally, each piece is covered with some type of protective plastic/celluloid, which has not yellowed in the least, but that is still completely clear and hardly noticeable. Please see all of the photos, and enlarge each and every one to see the fabulous condition of this set for yourself, and to see the wonderful detailing in the trim, as well. It would be difficult to impossible to find a high-end, quality-enamel, vanity set like this one, especially in equal or better condition anywhere on the Internet--I know, because I have looked, and looked, and looked. This set is the best one out there right now, and you have the fantastic--but, perhaps, fleeting--opportunity to make it yours! Don\'t pass this one up: you will be thrilled with this set, just as I was from the moment that I saw it.
