- A superb French Rococo Crucifix (a popular design period in 18thC France)
- French provincial hallmarks on the reverse side of the Crucifix
- French hallmarks possibly much older than English import hallmarks
- English IMPORT hallmarks present (front of Crucifix, above left)
- English assay mark for Sheffield
- English date letter for 1899
- English makers mark (importer) for Samuel Boyce Landeck (entered c1894, retailer in Campden Square)
- Oval stamp letter F indicates English import
- Cross measures 8 7/8 by 5 inches
- Weighs a sturdy 155.3 grams (well over 5 troy ounces)
- Medium to heavy tarnish; some collectors prefer an undisturbed, natural patina
- Very fine original condition overall; no damage, loss or repairs
