GLASS-SIDED ZONOPHONE
This is a rare and unusual example of a glass-sided Zonophone. Made in Germany c.1903, featuring:

Two beveled-edge glass sides, to view the wondrous machinery in action
10\" turntable
Larger case size than an American-made Model A Zonophone with glass sides
30\" zinc horn

Known as a \"London Grand\", or alternatively a \"Concert #75\" or \"Concert Grand\", this originally would have had a front-mounted extension arm, with vertical support. This later modification on this phonograph did away with that cumbersome arrangement and mounted the extension arm directly to the bedplate. Little is known about these European Zonophones, as very few were manufactured and original sales literature is very scarce. Thus, it is difficult to say for sure if the crank is as originally supplied or is a replacement, but due to it\'s lack of typical Zonophone-style shape, I would venture to say that it is not original.Everything seems to run and play well.
