Designed by Ingmar Relling for the Norwegian furniture producer Westnofa who are well known for the siesta chairs. This prototype model is called the \"Fjord\" and very few were produced by Westnofa as the Siesta became the main focus at the time of production in the early 1970s. (Confirmed as Fjord chair, ask for details) The chair has a frame that is made from laminated rosewood/bentwood. The frame has heavy duty thick canvas attached by steel bolts covered in leather(Similar to what is used on the Hunter chairs by Afdal) The canvas provides a hammock effect and supports the cognac leather cushion, creating a comfortable seating position with a slight spring.
This rare cubic sculpturedshape is timeless, airy and typical Scandinavian modern style.The Fjord chair is complimented by the desirable coloured cognac leather cushion. This chair is a collectable items as so few were produced by Westnofa, Norway. Suitable as a lounge chair, office or waiting area this rare chair will create a talking point.
