This is the earliest piece of jewelry I have had. I\'m estimating that it is late 1700s and composed of silver, gold, and crystal. I\'m not sure if it is a mourning piece or perhaps a sweetheart piece. There is a different design on each side, with a common fox head design on each side toward the edges. Very intricate upon examination. There is a lock of hair in the middle, tied with a gold thread. There is no damage to the crystal at all....some of the blue and white coloring has flaked, but considering the age almost insignificant. The circular bezel is silver, with a gold jump ring and small gold loop at the bottom...maybe for a tiny pearl or gold drop or something like that.
