This is getting to be a habit for me: Seeing a relic like this and putting in all the time to get it looking as close to new as possible and also doing the inside job. This is the classic widely available “All-American 5” (5 tube) electrical design that was so popular from the 30s until the use of vacuum tubes faded in the 60s. The AM sound here is very listenable and has lots of gain. Cosmetically: Glossy off-white plastic cabinet with the Batman look “M” insignia. All original knobs, hardware and back cover. There are no nicks, chips, cracks or deep scratches to be found anywhere. My photos show a slight dip along the top back line of the cabinet. For whatever reason, my camera makes it look much more pronounced than it appears in real life. This measures at max 1/8\" and is most likely a warpage due to the heat from the tubes. (The front top edge of the plastic cabinet is a perfect line). The brown plastic knobs show a little loss of the gold colored markings and are not glossy. There are 20 or so miniscule off-white paint dots, the overspray kind you get from an aerosol paint can, on the top surface (invisible) and the top of the built-in antenna. Except in just the right reflective light, they aren\'t visible. Size and weight: 9” w x 5 ¼” h x 5” d; just over 3 lb.
