Rare NAPIER Sterling Silver Chicken Hen \" Guarding The Nest Egg \"
Coin Piggy Bank[ 84 grams, .925 Sterling ]Vintage NAPIER sterling silver figurines and coin banks
are a hard find these days.
This one is rather adorable. It is a \"piggy\" bank in the
image and shape of a chicken hen.
The slot is large enough to accommodate pennies,nickels, dimes and quarters.
\"GUARDING THE NEST EGG\" is
featured along side of coin slot ( see photo).
Size of figure is about 2-1/8\" tall from bottom to top of hen\'s head.
It measures 4\" from beak to tail end, and is about
2-3/4\" wide in diameter across base.

Item is in good condition. It is a vintage pre-owned item
with signs of wear and has a few minor dents,
yet in places where they do not stand out.
The base is missing a small screw at back to keep
the base secure when filled. Empty with no coins,
the base stays secure and does not simply fall out.
Not sure how much weight/coins it will hold before
you will need to secure it with a small screw.
This is an estate item and has not been cleaned/polished
at all. As you can see it has overall patina and some
dark silverspots as well. I will leave cleaning up
to its new owner.
Not sure what else to add. I thought this was a quite
uncommon find given that it is made of sterling silver
and by NAPIER.Hallmarked \" NAPER STERLING PAT. PEND.\".
