HEAVY brass or bronze....can\'t tell which. One weighs approx. 2 pounds and 12 ounces and the other one weighs approx. 2 pounds and 14 ounces for a combined weight of over 5 pounds and 10 ounces!
Large...each measures approx. 18-1/2\" tall x 3-3/4\" wide
Thesebeautifulplates feature fancy, ornate tops and bottoms with center medillions of Victorian scenes. They arenearly prefect matches. The center round medillions on one push plate have a slightly different slim metal design around the pictures than on the other push plate. It\'s very subtle and I didn\'t notice until I started to take photos and measurements.
Each has 2 round openings about 2-1/8\" in diameter. Inside the openings are 1-1/2\" to 1-3/4\" round Victorian scenes which areeither hand painted porcelain plaques orhand painted enamel on copper. I just can\'t tell. There are no chips or cracks in the round paintings.Each painting is slightly convex (domed) and adds to the detail of these amazing pieces.
Back of each plate is covered with fabric...am not sure if original fabric or not.
Great used, pre-ownedcondition. Shows some scratches& wearmarks from normal use and storage over the years. Overall, they make anoutstanding presentation.
