Unusual Antique 15\" Doll with a Bisque Head marked - No. 76018 NIPPON 601. There is also a design marking I can not decipher above the writing on the back of the head. Her body is different than the normal Composition Body, and thanks to a kind an informative doll collector on , I learned that her body is known as a \"Crude Body\". She was made in Japan possibly around 1915-1940.She has a socket head. Her body bends only at the shoulder top of the leg. She has beautiful dark brown sleep eyes that open and close with ease. The paint on her right eyelid has mostly chipped off. She has two teeth exposed in very nice condition. She has painted eye lashes and eye brows in brown with a nice color to them. Her lips and cheeks are painted and in nice condition with a little dirt. Her bisque head overall is in very good condition without cracks, chips or breaks. Her wig is dark brown, very thick and in nice condition. I think it is human hair. Her bow, slip and dress are very old, possibly original. They are discolored and stained from age with wear and deterioration. Her shoes are not original.Her body, feet, hands and fingers have paint chipping, cracks, dirt, debris and light rubs. She has a crack in her right hip and her right leg as seen in the pictures. Her right thumb is chipped off. But overall the body is in good working condition.This doll comes from a smoke-free estate. I am not a doll expert, but I have tried my best to explain the doll and to show the complete doll in the pictures. Please look at the pictures.
