Description - A solid sterling silver christening mug

Dated for 1889 and assay Birmingham

A splendid christening mug which is beautifully engraved with foliage decoration with blank cartouches

Comes with a lovely scroll shaped handle

Comes from the Queen Victoria era and is 128 years old

The mug, as mentioned, has blank cartouches so would make an ideal gift and could easily be personalised by engraving


A superb example, superb quality and a lovely addition to a collection.

Silver Weight 79.5 grams


The condition is niced used condition with obvious dents, dings, holes, splits, knocks or repairs.

The top and bottom rims are not out off shape.

Stands perfectly well and no damage to the handle.


Hallmarks are clear and visible apart from the makers marked which is rubbed.


A truly amazing example of a Victorian christening mug and very rare to find without any engraving.


The measurements are height 8.3cm, diameter across top 5.5cm, diameter across bottom 5.3 cm. (Excluding the handle)
