Listed is a Rare Vintage 1970\'s George Nelson Smoked Lucite 8 Day Floor Clock in excellent vintage condition. This iconic design by Nelson was done for the Howard Miller Clock Company, and is classified as a \"grandfather\" clock. It chimes on the half hour and hour, for 8 days, is weight driven by pendulum and weights, and keeps very accurate time, has a wonderful sounding chime.
A beautiful item in any decor, useful as well as elegant, and a great example of Mid Century design by \"the creator of Beautiful and Practical Things\", George Nelson. Considered to be one of the most influential voices of design and architecture of the Twentieth Century, Nelson created the concept of the \"family room\" and the \"storagewall\", was first an architect who later turned to designing wonderful household items for homes and businesses. Howard Miller, brother of designer Herman Miller, developed a tradition of excellence and incomparable design and quality in everything his clock company manufactured, and his company was highly regarded for wonderful, useful clocks of the highest quality and design level, is still in business today. All original equipment, with original factory instructions and label on back of clock.Weight driven by pendulum and two weights, 8 day clock with two chimes, half-hour and hour. This is the scarce beautiful two-hand model, and is in excellent condition.
