Rare to find - large centerpiece of Russian Groundwork - an unusual form of drawnwork, where threads are withdrawn in both directions, whipped over, and design formed with needle weaving. Interesting texture in the cloth work.

Excellent condition. From the collection of Enid Purvis, early/mid twentieth century English lace collector, piece part of her exhibits. and still on the red fabric for display.

19 inches square. Near mint condition. Age unknown/ Ecru / ivory.
