PLEASE LOOK AT MY OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE! I WILL DISCOUNT SHIPPING ON BUNDLED PURCHASES.This exquisite dress is a rare Vintage Christian Dior that dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s.
The exterior is a unique black lace with a fitted waistline, black satin ribbon straps, center back zipper, and lace ruffle hem. The model is a size 2, please view the measurements and description about condition prior to offerding.
There are no holes in the lace, it has no stains on the lace, and the zipper works well. There are no belt loops that would indicate it had a belt.
There are two linings in the dress. The lining that touches the skin is taupe silk. It has a few light colored stains that are shown in the photos. All of the workmanship is in good condition and done by hand. Between the lining and the lace there is a taupe colored sheer silk organza. The organza has two 5-7 inch long splits about 5 inches up from the hem. There are also fold lines in this fabric, and one stitch line. This fabric is also darted to match the lace. All three fabric are sewn together at the waistline, but hang freely below that. The bodice is sewn together. The side seams of the bodice in the lining have markings that indicate it was taken in approximately 1/2 inch on each side, for a total of 1 inch (about) there are no markings or damage on the lace at all in this area.
The ribbon straps are in good condition and have some tacking to a nude colored ribbon.
The lace hem is about 2 inches long and gathered at the bottom. It is scalloped at the bottom. 90% of the lace hem is perfect, there are a few slits about 1 inch up, and a 3 inch wide section that needs repair.
There is some hand stitching around the zipper, and no stains under the arms.
