This book is a firstedition published in 1997 by The Complete Sportsman, in Millis, MA.It is a hard covered in blue cloth with gilt lettering. It is a hugevolume in folio size measuring 11-1/2 x 14-3/8 inches and weighingabout seven pounds! It encompasses 347 pages. This stunning work isprofusely infused with large full color photographs and illustrationsby some of history’s most famous illustrators.

Thisbook is awe inspiring in the realm of color photos and illustrations,yet it is loaded with incredible ornithological and zoologicalinformation. This book contains flies tied by many well known tiers.The illustrations were photographed by Robert Rohonczy. Both PaulSchmookler and Ingrid Sils photographed the materials and flies.

Thissecond volume continues in the topic of birds used in classic salmonand trout flies and then moves on to the mammals used that come fromall over the world. There are also special sections on “The Historyof Breeding Poultry for Fly Tying in America”, “Modern HackleProduction”, and “A History of Sericulture, Metallic Threads andTinsels”.

Thisamazing book also includes a selected index of selected fly patternsand their dressings as pictured in the text. This book is one of akind and should be in every serious salmon fly tiers’ orcollectors’ library.

BookCondition: Ihave listed this book in \"Very Good\" condition. There issome scuffing on the dust jacket and two small wear marks on thebottom corners of the cover, otherwise, the rest of the book hastight bindings, corners, spine, and pages that are in excellent andunmarked condition.
