Rare 200 year old antique early 19th century George III brass tavern \'honesty\' Tobacco box by Rich, c 1800 . It has 2 compartments with hinged covers, and stands on 4 ball feet. It is in good original condition with minor surface wear.

Operated by a coin in the top slot. This released the larger side of the box that was filled with Tobacco and was opened by the weight of the coin on the opposite side.

Both compartments open and the hinges are working, but the coin operating system and lock With no key I am unable to test so please assume they don\'t.

A super piece of history to add character, unique style, quality and a talking point to any room.
