Everyone who loves this old stuff as much as I do knows that the best hardware ever was made in the 1870\'s. This lock is an engineering masterpiece. The quality that Mallory Wheeler produced during this period is truly astounding. 1869/73 patent dates. The lock has most of it\'s original black paint-the keeper does not. It measures6 x 4 1/4\", is in superb working condition, and is ready to install. It also has all the features of a mortise entry lock set. The keys were cut from old stock to fit this lock. The porcelain knobs are in great condition with brass and bronze shafts. Thick iron/brass/bronze metals throughout this set. The lock alone weighs 2 1/2 pounds. Free insured priority mail shipping.
