This is an unusual and striking pair of Navajo Yei figure earrings. They are long - measuring 2 1/4\" not counting the drop. They are 1/2\" at widest point and hang from long French wires. They weigh a very substantial 15 grams, are marked sterling, and signed Creature Kritters, which is a copyrighted company of Navajo silversmiths that hand created this line of sterling jewelry. These were purchased in the late 80\'s from an upscale Native American gallery in Salt Lake City, Utah and seldom worn, carefully stored. They are unique with raised whimsical figures on the yei\'s body and mask. The Navajo artist has combined ancient revered yei figures (believed to supernatural beings that allowed communication between the Navajo people and their gods) with flying creatures and night time celestial images. Fantastic!
