Up for sale is a rare set of original storyboards for the Ren and Stimpy show segment titled \"Mr. Horse Returns.\" This segment debuted on Nickelodeon way back in 1993. There are eight pages total, and they cover the entire sequence. The pages are large, and measure about 17 inches across, and about 11 inches tall. The storyboards are mostly hand-drawn in pencil, but you can read more about the details below. \"Mr. Horse Returns\" is an infamous sequence, and these original storyboards are where it all started. Most of the images you see are photos, which tend to look a bit dark. There are some scans of individual panels, and one screencap. The screencap isn\'t part of the sale, it\'s just shown here for reference. If you watch this sequence, you can see how the storyboards match up with the final version on screen. All the drawings from this set were used as guidelines for the animators and artists when they went to create the final drawings and cels.Please be aware that there is a lot of wear and tear on this set, which is standard for production used storyboards. These storyboards (or boards) have been displayed and revised, and pass through many hands during production of the episode. All of the original storyboards were taped onto the blank storyboard layout pages, which have the old Spumco logo.There are minor folds, creases, taped areas, dog-eared and folded corners, pencil smudges, faint fingerprints, small tears, edge wear, etc. Some of the drawings have multiple layers of cut and pasted areas. You see this a lot with pre-production art, but especially with storyboards, which are often heavily revised before being utilized by the animation team for the rest of the production.There are two panels that are photocopied versions of earlier panels from the same storyboards. This is done when the basic pose for that shot is similar or the same as one of the previous shots. So basically, the storyboard artist copied their own work in order to save time and energy. Original storyboards are incredibly rare, and SPUMCO boards are hardly ever available for sale. Usually, you can get a single board or page from a show or sequence, but you never find the entire cut. In my 20+ years of collecting, this is the only full original storyboard set I\'ve seen from Ren and Stimpy. I hope you will give this unique set a great new home in your collection.
