Hello Again!I have decided to do something NEW and hopefully fun and useful for those interested in history, documents and reenacting!Up for sale is a reproduction broadside (I can make as many as are ordered) I have made.
These look impressive in person with very large font and would be awesome for a reenactment or for any other revolutionary war period activity
This is directly from a very rare original broadside from the REVOLUTIONARY WAR! The major wording is identical. The font is an original font from the time period. It has the Kings seal as well as authentic \"long s\" and ligatures like you would find in the time period. It has an authentic time period laurel and a mortice. Some of the spacing and formatting has been changed to make it look pleasing and fit on the paper I have. I have taken some artisticlicense to make it look more imposing. The main wording though is original. It is also very large size of 11x17 and printed on heavy 32/80# paper that is kind of a mottled tan color to look and feel authentic. This is not just something printed up on MS word and printed on traditional 11x7 paper. This looks like a real broadside! (authentication hint: if this were a real broadside from 1770s it would be printed on \"laid\" paper which this is not---still looks very excellent!)These look very good in person and would be great for a school room or for the re-enactor. I like hanging them around the house, they are quite impressive and get a lot of attention especially for colonial or revolutionary war re enactments. This is a very famous broad side that was put out by Great Britain against the colonies which were in near open rebellion at the time. This was a feeble attempt to convince people to Join up as Loyalist Troops and fightagainst their countrymen.Very interesting reading once you get by the lack of periods and the time period wording. Great for history buffs or for hanging in the classroom! The Broadside reads as follows:Trucro Duce Nil DesperandomFirst Battalion of Pennsylvania Loyalists.Commanded by His Excellency Sir William Howe K.B
ALL INTREPID ABLE BODIED
HEROES
Who are willing to serve his majesty King GEORGE the Third indefense of their country, Laws and constitution, against the arbitrary usurpations of a tyrannical congress, have now not only an opportunity of manifesting their spirit by assisting in reducing to obedience their to-long deluded Countrymen, but also of acquiring the polite Accomplishments of a soldier by serving only two years of during the present rebellion in America. Such spirited fellows who are willing to engage, will be rewarded at the end of the war, besides their Laurels, with 50 acres of land where every gallant hero may retire andenjoy his bottle and lass. Each Volunteer will receive as a bounty FIVE DOLLARS, besides arms, clothing andaccoutermentsand every other requisite proper toaccommodate a gentleman soldier by applying to Lieutenant Colonel ALLEN or at Captain Kearny\'s Rendezvous at Patrick Tonry\'s three Doors above Market-street in Second-street
