This sale is for the genuine Ancient Egyptian necklace shown in the photo. Buyer will receive the exact bead necklace shown in the photo.

When these beads are found they are generally a pile of loose beads as whatever was used to string them (Probably some type of plant fibre) long ago deteriorated. It is not known how they would have been put together in ancient times. I have a large pile of these ancient egyptian beads and took some and strung them on a chord to make a one size fits most necklace. Necklace is around 68cm long. ONLY THE BEADS ARE ANCIENT - The chord that I have strung the beads are stung on is modern.

These beads date from around 700BC to roughly 300BC. They are made of a ceramic paste called \"Faience\". They were worn as jewelry by both men and women - especially poor people who couldent afford gemstones wore faience beads. Large quantities of these beads were often found in late dynastic Egyptian graves (Hence the modern name \"Mummy Beads\").
