Up for sale is this amazing 44TH regiment of foot officers button. It has most of its original silver and shank and is marked SF 1770-1780. One of the rarest models you will ever see. It is engraved. There is another example in a museum in Scotland. Also included is a pistol ball mold I found nearby also marked 44. Detecting find, water finds. Shipping costs are for North America only and is traceable.The regiment was renamed the 44th Regiment of Foot in 1751 when British regiments ceased to be named for their Colonels. The regiment saw active service overseas in North America and participated in the French and Indian War and in the American Revolution. Notably, the regiment fought at Braddock\'s defeat (1755), the Battle of Carillon (1758), the Battle of Brooklyn (1776), the Battle of Brandywine (1777), and the Battle of Monmouth (1778).
