Revolutionary war bayonet that looks similar to a British Brown Bess bayonet, but not exact. The forward mounting slot is too long to fit the barrel of the Land Pattern Brit muskets. Too long for the later India Pattern Brown Bess that the Brits used after the Revolution. Most likely an American copy for one of the many musket types they used. Uniform light pitting over entire bayonet. 16.5\" blade, 4\" socket, 7/8th inch opening for socket. Looks like maybe a maker\'s mark near base of blade. Also has remnants of silver paint inside socket and some type of clear coat for about 2 x 1 inch on socket. Can easily be removed. US SHIPPING ONLY!
