This sterling silver bowl was presented to some passengers aboard the RMS Caronia, which was called the \"Green Goddess\". This ship had a green painted hull, which was designed to reflect the tropical heat. The Caronia was also referred to as the MiIlionaires\' Yacht and accommodated 581 first class and 351 cabin class passengers. Built in Scotland by John Brown & Co. and launched in1948, this ship was considered the crown jewel of the Cunard Line. This bowl was made by Comyns of London, a prestigious silversmith since the 18th century. It weighs 4 oz. and measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter. This piece is unlike other bowls that are for sale because it comes in the original box and includes the original paperwork.
