ROMAN EMPIRE | A tiny ceramic jug from Cologne, Germany:

This tiny Roman jug is only 9 centimeters (3,5 inches) tall. According to out family recordings, my grandfather bought it from civil engineering workers in the 1950ties or 1960ties when Cologne was rebuilt after WW2. Im am not sure if this was a jug for oil, garum ( a Roman fish sauce) or an oil lamp. I have seen similar pieces in our local museum. Please consider that the upper part with mouth and handle was glued. once - there is a hardly visible hairline crack. Otherwise very good condition. E few words in German: Kleiner römischer Keramik Krug aus Köln. ) 9 Zentimeter hoch. Wohl in den 50er oder 60er Jahren bei Bauarbeiten gefunden. Aus der Sammlung meines Großvaters.
