Roman Fascia Balteus Ventralis Sash Belt worn on tunic legionary officer tribune:
$25.00

You are buying the mustard gold Roman wool sash belt wrap only. This was the most common color used by the Roman army on accessory items like this sash and the sagum. Other items seen in this picture are not included but can be purchased separately. This Roman mustard gold 100% wool Fascia Balteus Ventralis was used on a tunic of either alegionary or an officer. It\'s main purpose was to protect the tunic from the belt plates and metal parts of the military belt so thatthe tunicwas not snagged by it etc. It also served a double purpose from my own experimentsas the hips is also where a lot of the weight of the armor was distributed too and it would act as extra padding from the lorica hamate armor, sqamata armor or segmentata armor. It also looks rather handsome. My Fascia belt\'s wrapped around the waist several times and then tuck back into it, similar to what a head wrap would do. I also have this material in a 100% wool Roman red color as well. These are $25 each.
