Magnificent plate, hand painted by one of Doulton\'s best known artists, A. Dix. Note that the gold colored border paintis raised.The mark on the back indicates \"E3662\" which was first introduced in 1905/1906. There is another number above the \"E3662\"the first part of which is almost illegible, but the rest of the numbers indicate \"6015\" and I have no idea what it\'s for.With the exception of the hairline crack noted above, the piece is perfect - and the price reflects that imperfection.
The diameter of the plate is 9\" and the colors are very vibrant.
Picture #3 - in the EXACT center of this picture is A. Dix\'s signature - very hard to see - even in person - but it\'s there.
Picture #4 - the back of the plate with the Doulton logo and \"Ovington Bros.\" (may have been made for that particular store \"way back when\").
I had this piece listed a few months ago at $125.00 and just reduced it to $95.00.
Word of caution - - -just had a bad experience with someone putting an antique piece of pottery in a dishwasher. DON\'T DO IT!!!!
