This is a wonderful old, antique. It measures 8 inches tall, or should I say it measures 20 centimeters tall? It is a water or beer pitcher with a poem on each side. I will save my favorite for last. \"There\'s a saying- Old and musty, yet it is ever new, tis never trouble trouble, till trouble troubles you.\"When the handle is on the right the poem reads \"If anyone speaks evil of you, let your life be such that no one will believe him.\" I love that. It probably holds two quarts. I have looked it over and there are no chips or cracks; the only wear I see is the gold paint off the handle where you would hold it if you used it.
