This is Charles Dickens\' delightful Mr. Pickwick created by Leslie Harradine for Royal Doulton. He is hand painted with a glossy glaze and his name is written on his base. Mr. Pickwick stands 7 1/4\" tall on a 2 1/2\" X 2 1/8\" base. Mr. Pickwick is marked with the Royal Doulton hallmark and #556. Research tells me he was made between 1929 and 1938. Your last picture is Mr. Pickwick with 3 other Royal Doulton Dickens characters from the same time period. They are on separate sales at this time. This piece is in excellent vintage condition. His white pants have a line of crazing on the front and a bit of tiny crazing on his crotch and right leg, just above his boot. I can find no other flaws of any kind. He would enjoy a better cleaning than my light brushing. Please view my photographs for more description.
