Up for offer is a rare seriesware plate produced in 1904 by the world famous Royal Doulton factory in Stoke on Trent, England.The range is named Provence and features a variety of game birds. This particular plate shows a bird (maybe a crane of some sort?) walking through the brush. The series is one of the more unusual and rarer to find in the seriesware range.
The plate is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, however there is a brown spot on the bottom right portion of the plate. I have taken a close up picture of the mark. The spot is a bit rough to the touch. There are some expected blips and speckles within the glaze as is typical of this type of ware which are most evident to the back. However these do not affect the overall appeal or display of this rare piece.
