This is a Royal Doulton seriesware relief jug which stands 3 3/4 inches high and measures 4 1/2 inches across the top from spout to handle. This jug is from the \"Moorish Gateway\" series designed by H. Allen and which was first issued in 1912 under the name \"Tunis\". In 1926 the scenes were set in a relief background and the series was renamed \"Moorish Gateway\" - the series was withdrawn from production by 1945. The scene on the front depicts two men sitting talking beside a gateway with minarets in the background. On the base you can see the Royal Doulton trademark in black together with the pattern number D 4745.The condition is good with no chips, cracks, damage or restoration and the colours are bright and crisp with no loss or scratches.
