SILVER 1904 15 KOPEKS and 1905 20 KOPECK and WARSEE SCANS FOR NICE DETAILS !The medal was awarded to all participants of Admiral Rozdestvensky\'s 2nd Far Eastern Squadron during the Russo-Japanese War. The squadron made a voyage from St Petersburg through the Atlantic, around the horn of Africa to the Far East, initially having the aim of relieving the besieged Russian naval fortress of Port Arthur. The expedition\'s destination was altered to Vladivostok after the Port Arthur\'s surrender in January 1905. Changing of the course led to the battle of Tsushima Strait, disastrous for the Russian fleet. Those Russian sailors who survived the battle were awarded with the medal commemorating their heroic stand at Tsushima. Enlisted personnel received dark bronze medals manufactured by the Mint, whereas the officers had to order silver medals from private makers.(See Dimitri Romanov, \"The Orders, Medals and History of Imperial Russia\", pp. 242-243)offer with confidence !
