Russian lacquered, hand-painted wooden egg, with a continuous or panoramic religious scene all of the way around the front, sides and back of the egg.Photo ## 1 through 6, of 10, show the egg at approximate one-sixth turns of the egg, in order to show you the panoramic nature of the art. It appears to be a mountain scene with two holy men (as established by the gold-toned halos or auras around their heads), angels,a bird and a scroll containing words in Cyrillic alphabet. The egg is signed on the bottom in Cyrillic alphabet.See photo # 10, of 10. The egg comes with a stand. The egg is approximately 8-3/4\" tall on the stand. Without the height added by the stand, the egg is6\" tall and 4\" wide at its widest point.All measurements are approximations.
This Russian egg is from an estate containing large quantities of collectibles, including large quantities of Russian eggs which I will be selling on .
The Russian wood egg and its stand are in good condition, with no marks, scrapes, dents or fissured lacquer.
The egg and stand will be shipped by USPS Priority Mail. I can combine shipping, if possible. I always check to see if the Russian eggs I am selling qualifyto be sent byUSPS First Class Mail, which is lower cost than Priority Mail but has a 1 lb. weight limit. It will not be possible to ship this egg and stand as First Class Mail, because the egg and stand cumulatively weigh over15 ozs., a disqualifying weightwhen you consider theweight which will be addedby the shipping box (which will be at least 5 ozs.) and packing materials.
