ALL SUBSEQUENT ITEMS FREE SHIPPINGI have some other figural napkin rings and toothpick holders for sale currently...see themHEREMost of these figural napkin rings and toothpick holders were sourced in Australia. I have gathered them over the last 2 years from deceased estate sales all around the country. Most of the American figural napkin rings were made c1860-1899, and I believe a lot of them found there way to Australia in the gold-rush period in Australia in the 1870/1890\'s.I havelisted them nowas they have accumulated over the last 2 years while I have been engaged in a big supreme court action. This is a fabulous antique American figuralnapkin ringc1870 which has a sailor boy pushing or rollingthe napkin holder as if a barrel. This item looks to have beenresilvered (and well at that, as it looks like sterling silver now), asthe engravings on the ring are obscured and the mark on the bottom(which should be marked Meriden 161) is also obscured. I guarantee itis old and authenic but restored. It presents beautifully and is inexcellent condition with no issues. A similar ring is shown in the book by Gottschalk andWhitson\'s book\"Figural napkinRings: Collectors Identification and Value Guild\", in plate 649on page 263, but the boy is pushing a barrel shaped hodler in theirphotograph. That ring shown is marked Meriden B Company 171. G&Wstate in the description that the same figural napkin ring was alsomade with a plain holder and was marked meriden B Company 161. This isteh ring they are referring to. They valued the ring shown at $200-$350in 1996, 16 years ago. The ring for sale is shown in schnadig\'s book onAmerican figural napkin rings. See photo below. This figural napkin ring is inexcellentcondition.I have not polished or cleaned it. There are no issues.Pleaselook at thephotos (which form part of the description) and ask any questions ifyou have any | Froo | Froo Cross Sell, Free Cross Sell, Cross promote, Marketing, listing Apps, Apps, Application
