GILBERT OLIVAS is from the SAN JUAN PUEBLO. He began experimenting with clay at the age of 7. By the time he was 29, he had mastered the art of creating pottery using the ancient methods.
He was inspired to learn the art of creating pottery by Barbara Martinez, from the Santa Clara Pueblo.
Gilbert Olivas specializes in Santa Clara pottery that is handcoiled.
This piece measures 7 x 5 3/4". It is in Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, etc.
