This is an absolutely beautiful and outstanding Oriental Foo Dog Lion Statue. This looks to be museum quality, likely very old. There is actually a round ball in the foo dog\'s mouth, which means that this would have to have been carved through the mouth - which would be tedious, difficult and rather unbelievable. The statue is completely carved with the foo dog holding her two babies, deer all around the base. The pictures will tell the story. The lady I bought this from years ago said that she thought it was serpentine, but I\'m not sure of that. Measurements are 9 1/2 inches or 24 cm. tall, 4 inches or 10 cm. wide and 5 inches or 12 3/4 cm. deep. It is very heavy.
